Make a difference to your community
At Bendigo Bank we help build things like nursery rooms in hospitals.
We help buy things like people movers for community groups.
And we do things like contribute to the construction of local sports grounds.
We can help make these things happen because people like you are our customers.
You can find these and other stories at www.bendigobank.com.au
Paying it back
Fremantle Community Bank® Branch is committed to the sustainability of its local community, supporting the South Fremantle High School's Carbon Neutral Go Green project and vegetable garden. In addition, the Community Bank® branch has returned $25,000 to the Sunday Courtyard Music Festival and $5,000 to the local Men's Shed, funds which have helped to keep the shed's doors open to support the local community.
Tasmania's horse whisperer
The truly inspirational story of Nelly Jaebe, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 10 years ago, but remained determined to continue her work with horses. Her local Community Bank® branch at Deloraine in Tasmania offered to lend a hand.
Logan scores for little squirts
In March 2010, the Logan Community Bank® Branches partnered with the Rochedale Rovers Football Club to establish a soccer development program for children aged three to five.
The Squirts Program teaches local children how to play soccer in a fun environment and encourages them to participate in sport. Staff from the Logan Community Bank® Branch in Springwood are actively involved in the program, volunteering each Saturday morning and designing the uniform worn by participants.
Rickety playground a thing of the past
Maldon & District Community Bank® Branch has contributed more than $14,000 to Baringhup Primary School to purchase new play equipment.
Baringhup Primary School is a small rural school located on the Loddon River in Central Victoria. The school’s aging playground has been repaired by parents many times over the years and needed to be replaced.
Growing success
With the help of West Beach Community Bank® Branch, Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s philanthropic arm, Community Enterprise Foundation™, has distributed its 30 millionth dollar to support communities in Australia and abroad.
The milestone was reached in Fulham Gardens, South Australia, on Wednesday, 1 September 2010 with a grant of $2000 going to the Fulham Gardens Community Garden Group.
Kool kids club
Clovelly Community Bank® Branch supports the Kool Kids Club, an early intervention program aimed at primary school aged indigenous children living in and around La Perouse in inner-city Sydney. Kool Kids Club has been running for eight years, but in early 2009 government funding was pulled threatening the future of the program. That’s when the Clovelly Community Bank® Branch stepped in donating $50,000 in funding, which has helped the program attract further support from government and the corporate sector.
