WA network supports Telethon

The Community Bank^® network of Western Australia has supported the 2011 Channel 7 Telethon with a donation of $20,000.

In a collaborative effort of Community Bank^® Boards from across WA, Byford & Districts Community Bank^® Branch Chair, Kim Simpson, Bayswater & Noranda Community Bank^® branches Chair, Barry McKenna and Bendigo Bank’s Piggy Mascot presented the $20,000 cheque on behalf of Bendigo Bank and the Community Bank^® network during the Telethon.

Bendigo Bank State Manager WA, David Boromeo, said supporting Telethon will mean an improvement in the medical and social welfare of Western Australian children.

“The money will provide much needed assistance for children and young people to fund new medical equipment, aids and devices, medical research and counselling and support services,’’ Mr Boromeo said.

The Telethon Weekend is a live 24-hour charity appeal held annually at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre. The event was televised on the Channel 7 Network and on the Golden West Network throughout Regional WA.
