Browny's Community Chest
The Melbourne region’s Community Bank branches gave away $34,000 to local community groups and organisations during June. All thanks to the Browny’s Community Chest initiative.
Community Bank® branches in Melbourne and outlying areas joined forces to support a radio campaign on Nova 100 FM. Built into the campaign was a competition for community groups to win big cash prizes. More than 1,500 organisations nominated their projects to win.
Browny’s Community Chest went to air during Nova 100’s top-rating breakfast show, with presenter Jonathan Brown as voice ambassador. Nova’s promotional team handed out a cash prize winner every day over an eight day period.
Winners of the daily $3,000 giveaways were:
Diamond Creek Football & Netball Club (Diamond Creek)
Tyabb Football Club (Hastings)
Altona City Soccer Club (Altona)
Carlton Neons Netball Club (Carlton)
Helen Paul Kindergarten (Carrum Downs)
Spark Youth Dance Company (Pearcedale)
Point Cook Cricket Club (Point Cook)
Irabina Autism Service (Heathmont)
We finished the week off with a major cash giveaway of $10,000. The winner of this fantastic prize was Backpacks for VIC Kids. The Cranbourne based organisation provides backpacks and nappy bags to Victorian children going into foster care and emergency accommodation. The presentation of the $10,000 cheque was held at the Marriott Waters branch.
Browny’s Community Chest has helped us share the story and good work that Community Banks do. We thrilled to have been able to distribute some much-needed funds to some very happy local community groups.
