Picture: Paul Scambler See your ad here The Salvation Army will use a $54,000 donation from Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and Rural Bank to assist people still affected by last year’s floods around Latrobe. A cheque with the donation was handed over on Thursday at Bendigo Bank in Kings Meadows. “We’ll see what’s needed around the area – particularly around Latrobe, in the town and rural areas outside it,” Salvation Army social program secretary Stuart Foster said. People in that area are still struggling to get back on their feet after the 2016 floods- Stuart Foster “People in that area are still struggling to get back on their feet after the 2016 floods. “We’re looking at what we can do to help financially, but also looking to see how people are actually coping. “Part of the project will be referring people to other areas and organisations where they can get hope.” Bendigo Bank regional community manager Stewart Nankervis said about $40,000 of the $54,000 raised came from the community bank foundation.
