Ethical investing
In May 2000, Bendigo Bank launched Australia’s first bank deposit account directly linked to ethical investment structures. Ethical Investment Fund (Now known as Bendigo Oxfam Community Investment Account) has attracted more than $100 million in deposits and last year paid its beneficiary, Oxfam Australia, a significant amount in commissions and interest donated by depositors.
On June 30, 2006 the Ethical Investment Trust was dissolved and the agreement is now between Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and Oxfam Australia. Interest donated by depositors are paid direct to Oxfam Australia.
