On April 26‚ 1999 a group of interested community members met with Bendigo Bank to discuss the opportunity of establishing the Heyfield and District Community Bank® Branch.
Shortly after this meeting a preliminary public meeting was held to discuss the Community Bank® concept and the steps required to establish a Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank at Heyfield‚ and a committee was formed. As a result‚ the committee engaged an independent consultant to conduct a feasibility study in relation to the Bendigo Bank proposal.
The results of the feasibility study were presented to the committee at a meeting held on 18 September 2000 and it was unanimously voted to proceed.
Heyfield and District Community Bank® Branch was officially opened for business on 19 May 2001. Since we first opened our doors six years ago‚ our Community Bank® branch now has over $50 million in funds under management (deposits and loans). A great achievement in a very short space of time.
Bendigo Bank is proud to be the principal sponsor of Immigration Bridge Australia – a project to honour the significant contribution immigration has made to our nation.
