A preliminary public meeting was held to discuss the Community Bank® concept and the steps required to establish a Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank at Elmore.
A committee was formed in September 2002 to evaluate the proposal and was briefed by Bendigo Bank in mid-October 2002.
Following a significant amount of interest in February 2003‚ Elmore invited Lockington to become part of their committee and jointly campaign for branches in Elmore and Lockington.
As a result‚ the committee appointed an independent consultant to feasibility study in relation to the proposal.
The results of the feasibility study were presented to the committee at a meeting held on Wednesday‚ 18 June 2003 and it was unanimously voted to proceed towards the establishment of Elmore/Lockington & Districts Community Bank® Branches.
Elmore officially opened its branch on 3 December 2003.
Lockington Community Bank® Branch
A second branch for the company was opened in Lockington on 3 March 2004.
Andre Clayton was appointed first manager for the company (2003-2009)
Rochester Community Bank® Branch
2010: After 7 years of operation with 2 successful Community Bank® branches and a new Manager in place‚ Lockmore Financial Services looked to expand into nearby Rochester.
With preliminary public meetings held to discuss a 3rd site‚ the Rochester steering committee was formed to gauge the interest for Rochester commencing February 2010.
2011: Rochester was devastated by floods January 2011‚ but the community rallied to ensure that the positive step of a locally owned BBL Community Bank® came to town.
Rochester pledged over $675‚000.
LFS launched the prospectus on 4 August with over $400‚000 in share applications received on the night.
On Wednesday 19 October‚ Rochester branch opened with much fanfare and celebration.
Manager Tracie Kyne and her 14 staff are now busily providing full banking services across the district with 3 branches fully operational and 2 ATM’s installed.
Elmore branch is about to celebrate its 8th birthday on December 3 and Lockington’s 8th birthday occurs 3 March 2012.

celebrating 10 years since the formation of the company‚ operating the 3 Community Bank® branches. Birthday celebrations are to be held at the Elmore Memorial Hall‚ Friday 2 August‚ 2013. The 2013 Grants presentations will be made as part of this event.
