A Personal Perspective of Forrestfield & Districts Community Financial Services Limited Community Support Program by Noreen Townsend‚ Company Secretary and PR Coordinator.
Community Banks‚ which are branches of the Bendigo Bank network‚ are committed to their community role - that is they return a percentage of their profits back into their local community‚ supporting community organisations; sporting clubs‚ schools‚ health services just to name a few.
My role with the Forrestfield & Districts Community Bank® Branch has enabled me to become really involved in their sponsorship program and each and every request that comes in for financial assistance I want to give them everything they ask for because they all seem so needy and so worthwhile (mind you it is not my place to even make that type of decision!). To date there have been a number groups that have received funding from our branch that have tugged at my heart strings and made me feel immensely proud of being associated with them and with the branch.
The Forrestfield & Districts Community Bank® Branch has to date returned just on $118‚000 to the local community with major sponsorships going to Kalamunda Men’s Shed project ($10‚000); a patient transporter for Cancer sufferers and their families to take them to the city for treatment and appointments ($38‚000) and a 50%($14‚000) contribution to a people and animal transporter for Kanyana Animal Sanctuary. The balance has been allocated through smaller grants to school P&Fs; cultural events; community groups and sporting clubs in the area.
