Our two branches (Forrestfield and High Wycombe) are operating very successfully‚ even in these tricky financial times. Thanks must go to our staff‚ our customers and our shareholders for their loyalty and commitment.
Our managers Ray Morgan and Paul Moss are out and about in the community visiting schools and are both becoming well known in the local school community
2011 saw the Board initiate a Community Forum. The aim of the forums was to work with the community to identify projects that may be identified by the community so that the company can invest its profits into either a project or projects.
Community Banks are designed to invest money back into communities – 'Processes like this are about identifying the most valued projects or community needs' said Phil Mutter Chairman of the Forrestfield and High Wycombe Community Bank Board.
Projects may be small‚ large‚ one off or ongoing‚ and may also be carried out in collaboration with other groups or with; local‚ state or federal government.
Of the top 5 projects identified the following were investigated
- Respite Centre/house for Alzheimer’s
- Autistic school for the children living in the shire of Kalamunda
- Care home for younger people needing fulltime care so they are not placed in aged care homes
- Community Hub - Not-for profit office/storage & meeting house e.g. Lotteries house
Unfortunately other than the Community Hub‚ none of these were viable due to ongoing operational costs and needs.
Discussions are being held with the local Shire in terms of perhaps a funding agreement for the construction of the community hub‚ |
