Background Information:

Carl commenced his career as a Structural Design Engineer with Weathered Howe in 1990 following completion of his Bachelor of Engineering from QUT. He joined Brisbane City Council in 1991 as Regional Manager‚ then in 1993 joined Delfin as a site engineer working on the Forest Lake project on Brisbane’s Southside. In 1994‚ Carl transferred to Townsville to project manage Delfin’s two North Queensland projects. From here his role expanded to Delfin’s Northern Australian Manager covering Townsville‚ Cairns and Darwin. Carl returned to South-East Queensland in 1999 to instigate and lead the highly successful and acclaimed Varsity Lakes project. As Project Director he was responsible for the development of this multi award winning 343 ha fully planned urban community. Carl now fulfils the national role of General Manager Delfin Town Centres‚ overseeing all town centre (non residential) developments across the portfolio of Delfin Lend Lease projects by providing the necessary support and management to the teams.

Stephen Simpson

Background Information:

Stephen has worked in the Financial Services Industry since 1977 and has held a number of senior positions in Corporate and Business Banking with a number of banking institutions in Tasmania‚ Melbourne‚ Fiji and The United Arab Emirates.Returning to Australia in late 1999 from Dubai‚ Stephen joined the Bendigo Bank and in 2002 was appointed Regional Manager South Queensland. In his current role Stephen is part of Bendigo Bank’s Queensland State Management Team and is responsible for the development of new community enterprises (Community Bank® & Community Telco) throughout Queensland. Stephen is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is also a Director of: Silver Body Corporate Financial Services Pty Ltd (a Joint Venture between the SSKB Group and Bendigo Bank based in Bundall) Varsity Lakes Community Ltd Stephen is married with two children and has lived in the Robina/Varsity area since 2002.

Christopher Gregory

Background Information:

A Member of the Australian Institute of Project Managers and a qualified Quantity Surveyor‚ Chris has spent much of his working life as a Senior Executive in the design development field for both government and private enterprises both in Australia and a large number of foreign countries. With a lifetime of experience in community‚ and educational institutions‚ Chris sits on a number of Boards and currently is involved in all aspects of the King’s Group comprising King’s Christian Centre‚ King’s Christian College‚ King’s International College and King’s Community Support Agency. Chris and his wife Bev spent several years in developing countries assisting in village ministries‚ medical‚ educational and practical redevelopment and are in the process of developing an orphanage and school in Uganda for children left homeless and orphaned through the AIDS epidemic. Chris currently runs an international business development company within the wellness industry. Chris has resided in Robina and Varsity Lakes for close on 10 years.

Wayne Clinton

Background Information:

Wayne and his wife have lived in Varsity Lakes since July 2002. After completing University study in both Science and Theology‚ Wayne served in a number of Church leadership positions in both South Australia and Victoria including a time as both State and National Secretary. He has also had extensive involvement in a number of community based organisations. He has been President of Gold Coast Community Care since December 2005. Apart from his role in Bethany Care with 13 staff and 90 clients‚ Wayne is also heavily involved in Hope Church where he leads the men’s group and plays keyboard in the church worship band.

Nicholas Rone

Background Information:

A Varsity Lakes business owner and resident‚ Nicholas is the founder‚ Owner and Managing Director of Varsity Lakes Travel. A respected travel professional‚ he has served in senior management roles within Travel‚ Tourism and hospitality for over 20 years both in Australia and throughout Europe. Nicholas’s studies have included Hotel Management‚ Travel and Tourism management‚ and he is presently completing a Writing degree at Griffith University. Present community links include; the Chairman of Varsity Lakes Community Ltd and an honorary life member of the Burleigh Rotary Club. Past community links include; President of the Central Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce‚ Gold Coast Combined Chambers Committee‚ BRACC S Committee‚ Commerce Queensland Committee.

Nick Suddes

Background Information:

Nick has been in the accounting profession for 20 years since he graduated from ANU in 1988 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He worked for KPMG for approximately 8 years both in Sydney and overseas. He returned to Australia to live on the Gold Coast in 1996. Nick is one of three partners with AllState Partners (Gold Coast) Pty Limited. The firm is located at Bermuda Point at Varsity Lakes and has a team of nine qualified accountants. AllState Partners focus on providing genuine proactive advice to business owners around all aspects of their financial affairs. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants‚ a Fellow of the Tax Institute of Australia‚ a Registered Tax Agent and Registered Company Auditor. Nick is married with three children.

Stuart Leo

Background Information:

Stuart began his career in marketing working in advertising agencies throughout Brisbane in 2000. Stuart‚ his wife Lisa and their family live and operate their own business‚ Blirt! Marketing in Varsity Lakes. Stuart started with Delfin Lend Lease based at Varsity Lakes in 2002. He then went on to play a central role as Qld Marketing Manager for the Varsity Lakes project as well as various other Delfin Lend Lease communities across Queensland and Australia. Stuart left Delfin at the end of 2008 in order to pursue an interest in brand development and business strategy through the establishment of his own company Blirt! - a boutique marketing firm which specialises in Strategy‚ Brand & Creative development. In establishing Blirt!‚ Stuart is responsible for the development of strategy‚ brand‚ advertising & creative communication. Stuart is a strategic and creative thinker with a keen ability to find solutions to business problems. Stuart has resided‚ studied or worked in the Varsity Lakes area since 1997.
