Bendigo Bank has forged a healthy relationship with Australian Unity to provide Bendigo Health Cover to customers.

Together with Australian Unity, Bendigo Bank is now listening to your Health Cover needs and can provide your choice of cover and the excess options to suit your needs and budget.

Financial Advantages

  1. Great savings on health cover.
    Enjoy a 4% discount* off our standard contribution rates when you choose to pay by direct debit from your nominated account.

    *Inclusive of all other retails discounts and when payment is by direct debit. Excludes Healthy Travel Cover.


  2. Pay less tax.
    Depending on your income level you may be required to pay the additional 1% Medicare Levy Surcharge unless you have private hospital insurance. So you may in fact pay less tax if you take out Bendigo Health Hospital Cover.

  3. You don’t have to be sick to claim on your Bendigo Health Cover.
    We’ll help you improve or maintain your health at no extra cost through wellplan.

  4. Lifetime Health Cover.
    A Federal Government initiative that rewards people for taking out private hospital cover at an early age and maintaining it throughout their life. The current Lifetime Health Cover Scheme means you will pay a 2% higher premium for every year you stay out of private hospital insurance after you turn 30. For example, at 45 you’ll pay 30% more than those who took out health insurance before they turned 30.

  5. No Gap Doctor and Hospital Services.
    Health Cover can reduce or eliminate out of pocket costs associated with hospital treatment. Some hospitals and doctors now have agreements and contracts with Health Funds. You should check with your doctor.
