Over $750K given back to community…

Life should be all about celebrating milestones. And it is no different for us at Community Bank Robe & Districts.

Our journey began in Robe almost 20 years ago, when there suddenly became only one bank on offer to it’s residents, and there grew the flame of passion for the small town to embrace the model of a Community Bank Branch.

Community Bank Robe & Districts branch was officially opened on the 24 October 2003 and in 2023 we celebrated our 20th birthday. 

The Community Bank model is brilliantly simple. Our customers choose to bank with us, and we are committed to returning up to 80% of our bank profits back to those communities, and 20% of our bank profits to our shareholders. This may be for your local sporting or social club, a community event or group infrastructure. We have even been on the lookout for BIG projects within our banking region to benefit from the sponsorship pool.

Another milestone moment...

We were thrilled to announce that from October 2023, we have contributed a total of $750,000 in funding to over 100 different community projects and initiatives. This is such a huge achievement for us all, and we simply couldn’t have done it without YOU - our amazing customers, Directors, shareholders and community.

Your continued support has allowed us to make a positive impact in the areas that matter most. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. This truly is exciting news and something for us all to be extremely proud of!

Robe Primary School

Your local Community Bank is proud to announce that about mid-way through 2023, we awarded our largest sponsorship grant to Robe Primary School. The funds were put towards developing a nature play area at the school, which has already seen loads and loads of use, not only by the students at this amazing little school but by the community and tourists who flock to Robe at our various school holiday periods.

Principal, Anne Grayson, and her team were ecstatic to receive this funding, which really helped to get the project off the ground. It was a daunting thought to begin with, as the school really wasn’t sure how they were going to get the money to complete the project. Almost $100,000 was donated to the school by Community Bank Robe & Districts, which is all made possible by the support of our wonderful community, customers and shareholders.

The school kids couldn’t be happier with their new equipment, such as a zip line and rope swing, and are all looking forward to completion of the project in May this year. The school is sincerely grateful for the bank’s contribution, which is a true testament to the power of community banking. The nature playground will have an on-going positive impact for many years to come.

Robe Sports & Recreation Association

Your local Community Bank were approached last year by the Robe Sports & Recreation Association, who were requesting assistance to cover costs for a Masterplan to be created as a starting point for a new sporting grounds facility. A group of keen community members, which included a representative from each of the various sporting bodies (including football, netball, tennis, cricket, squash and even the nearby golf club) gathered to discuss what was possible.

The group hoped to be able to include most (if not all) requests from each club, in terms of what they would like to have included in their space. The tennis club for example, requested six new courts, to replace the four courts that are currently in a usable condition. All up, there is approximately 6,000sqm of space to work with, and the committee hopes that each club will be happy with their updated features such as clubrooms, courts and ovals.

The Sports & Recreation Association did a lot of their own fundraising, and Community Bank Robe & Districts is proud to share that we were able to contribute $40,000 to the project, which covered the Masterplan in full. In order for the masterplan to be created, an external planning team visited the site, considered what is required by each sporting body and the community, then came up with a plan as to how it can all come together as one big sporting venue. Included in the plan is a full-scale gym and a swimming pool, and should space and funds allow, we are sure that these will be great additions to the township of Robe.

We hope you agree that the new grounds will be a wonderful asset once completed in the next five to 10 years, and we are sure that our community will benefit for many decades to come.
