Jetty Crew - the new Youth Leadership Program
Our team are excited to be supporting this new initiative by our valued customers at the Busselton Jetty.
It’s an exciting new leadership program for young people aged 16-21, providing formal leadership training, dive qualifications and an opportunity to be involved in events and projects to ensure future generations enjoy the Busselton Jetty for another 152 years.
Busselton Jetty Inc CEO Lisa Shreeve explained the objective of the Jetty Crew was to help bring a new generation of community leaders to the fore who will look after the Jetty the same way the previous and current group of Jetty community leaders did, 30 years ago.
“Without the ‘Save the Jetty’ committee the Busselton Jetty would not be here today, indirectly contributing $10m per year in tourism dollars and responsible for 100 jobs in the Busselton community”.
The Jetty Crew will partake in events and project management training prior to running their own programs, with 10 participants each year over three years graduating. We look forward to providing more updates on this initiative and sharing the real stories and experiences of the Jetty Crew with you all.
