What do you love about your home town?
McCrae - in fact, the whole Mornington Peninsula - although sounding a little clichéd, has always had a strong community feel.
What do you wish other people knew about your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I wish business owners on the Mornington Peninsula were more aware of the benefits to the local community of relocating all their business and personal banking to their local Community Bank®.
What do you do when you’re not in your role as a director of your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I manage the largest bin supply company in Melbourne (based in Dromana) and, in my spare time, I cycle locally and climb on a regular basis in the French/Swiss Alps.

Dromana
What do you love about your home town?
The town of Dromana appeals because it’s situated just metres from the beach and because its commercial centre offers a great cross section of retail as well as coffee shops and restaurants. For these reasons, at weekends in particular, the town is abuzz.
Why have you chosen to be involved with your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
My work with our Community Bank® branches started as an extension of my involvement with the Rotary Club of Dromana and the Dromana Chamber of Commerce. It was important to me that I was to be involved with an organisation that was helping to build a solid community.
What do you do when you’re not in your role as a director of your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I enjoy a short walk to the beach for a swim at least twice a week.  At other times I enjoy getting on the bike and the flat coastal roads offer great rides, before you head inland to tackle the hills.  Of course after the ride, Dromana offers great choice in coffee shops.

What do you like to do in your home town in your spare time?
Walk and play golf (some would say it’s the same thing!). Some of the walks available around the Portsea, Sorrento, Rye areas are truly inspirational. In my career, I have been privileged to travel throughout the world and, when I’m on my walks around home, I think what better places or views are there in the world than right here? As for the golf……well, despite some saying it’s a good walk ruined, I think it’s the greatest release known to man. As is said, “A bad day’s golf beats a good day in the office” - and it is oh, so true.
What surprised you most about working with your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
The high level of ‘volunteerism’ that exists on the southern Mornington Peninsula - people who are prepared to give of their own time to help others or to pursue their passion (or both). It is truly inspirational and a real example of how “community” can make the world a better place.

What do you love about your home town?
Rosebud is ‘citified’ with a touch of country and a large touch of beach. It has all the amenities required for comfortable living, without the chaos of a big city.
What surprised you most about working with your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
What delighted me most was the number and variety of community groups working to make life better for us all.  Most of them are doing this work unsung, but are making such a difference.
What do you do when you’re not in your role as a director of your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I support a group called ‘Community Lifestyle Accommodation’. They are a group of older parents of people with intellectual disabilities working to establish a permanent care facility for their dependents and others in similar circumstances. Our Community Bank® has been behind us ‘all the way’.

Rosebud
What do you love about your home town?
With the advent of Peninsula Link, Rosebud is a town whose ‘time has come’. I love the new vibe around what for generations was a quiet summer holiday resort – it has the facilities now for all year round living.
Why have you chosen to be involved with your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I have chosen to be involved with the Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud because of the development of the area and what I saw as a Bank that reflected the ‘coming of age’ of the Mornington Peninsula.
What surprised you most about working with your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
The degree of involvement in and support for community organisations from our Community Bank® is indeed very extensive and most impressive.

Rosebud
What do you love about your home town?
Living in Rosebud has many of the advantages of both the 'beach/country' life and the suburban city life.  I particularly love that you can decide to go to the movies ten minutes before they start, pop down the street in your gardening clothes and no-one will notice, and see the stars at night.
What do you wish other people knew about your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I wish that people knew and understood better the ties our Community Bank® branches have to the local community.  Until I became a director, I had no idea of the extent of involvement of our staff and directors in local clubs and organisations.
What do you do when you’re not in your role as a director of your local Community Bank® branches in Rye, Dromana and Rosebud?
I'm involved with various organisations including the Southern Peninsula Community Fund, which operates an op shop; Handle With Care, which fundraises for projects in Bali; Probus; and Golf Peninsula, the local administration body for golf on the Mornington Peninsula. I also love to paint, play golf and try to play bridge.
