Community Bank Mansfield & District Scholarship Program

Helping students with the cost of study

Community Bank Mansfield & District is looking to support local students facing challenging circumstances.

Now in its fourth year, Community Bank Mansfield and District’s Scholarship Program is offering two scholarships and two bursaries for studies in 2023.

A $10,000 scholarship is on offer for bachelor degree studies, as well as a $4,000 scholarship for TAFE studies. Both apply to students who are 22 years or younger.

The program is also removing the age limit for two $1,000 Bursary payments. These bursaries are open to anyone looking to study a first year undergraduate bachelor’s degree.

The course must be an approved Australian course. It must also be registered through the Country University Centre at MACE Mansfield.

Online applications open Friday 26 August, and close Friday 7 October 2022, ahead of end of year exams.

Since the first program in 2019, Community Bank Mansfield & District has funded 11 students across the district. More than $41,000 has been granted to scholarship recipients.

Courses have included Psychology, Computer Science, Law, Global Studies, Midwifery, and TAFE patisserie studies.

The Scholarship Program has been a transformative undertaking. It has changed the lives of many local students and strengthened our community for the long term.

2019 recipient, Klodi Ward, reflected on receiving the scholarship.

“Without the scholarship I would not have been given so many great opportunities that came with living on residence… I am eternally grateful for the opportunities the scholarship has provided for me.”

At a recent presentation to Mansfield Secondary School students, Community Bank Mansfield & District Branch Manager Ryan Daykin said:

“Our aim is to assist local students overcome barriers to undertake further education. We are not looking for students with the best ATAR score. We are looking for students whose lives we can have the most impact on.”
