Young Trades Awards 2021

21 April 2021 |Community news

The Young Trades Awards 2021 was a pilot program initiated by Community Bank Trentham & Districts and Cool Country Community Enterprise. “Supporting local and keeping it local” is at the very core of the community banking model, which this program fits perfectly.

This program focused on our youth showing exceptional skills and community engagement. These awards shows our appreciation for the hard work and commitment of these young trades people.

We would also like to acknowledge the companies who employ, teach and develop these young people in our community. It has been with your help that these young people were nominated for an award.

The response to the Young Trades Award program exceeded our expectations. We were impressed with the volume of nominees, from both different fields and qualification levels. Some of which included, Hairdressing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Electrical, Landscaping, Law, Plumbing, Carpentry, Cabinet Maker, Nursing, Business and Childcare.

Congratulations to the winners:
1: Learning Employed: S. Maphosa & D Reid (Trentham)
2: Qualified Employed: R. Miranda (Woodend)
3: Entrepreneur: M. Reed Rogers (Newbury)

We would also like to thank everyone involved in getting this Awards Program off the ground and making it a huge success in its first year. This initiative would not have happened without the collaborative efforts of our local groups, businesses, sporting facilities and online social community groups. For this we are very grateful.

We're making great things happen in Trentham & Districts and we'd love you to be part of it.
