The volunteer organisation BlazeAid has received $1.1 million of your donations and is working in many fire impacted communities while putting plans in place to move into other areas in coming weeks.

In Braidwood, the camp and its volunteers have been welcomed by the local community and they’ve been working hard since 10th January.

The Braidwood BlazeAid numbers:

  • 178 Volunteers in camp
  • 4,400 km Fencing repaired
  • 4,265 Pickets installed
  • 303 Strainer posts installed
  • 14.002 km Fencing cleared
  • 21.108km Fencing finished
  • 108 Properties registered
  • 13 Properties completed
  • 3654 Meals provided

Volunteers and the Braidwood community took a break and were treated to a concert put on by the community.

The concert, featuring country music singer/songwriter Tom Curtain and local resident Keith Potger from The Seekers, was a welcome distraction for the 350-plus residents and volunteers from what has been a long 10 weeks.

Thank you BlazeAid!
