The Chainsaw Project

22 September 2022

Beyond The Fire: Recovery is giving voice to the triumphant grassroots story of communities. They're banding together against all odds two years after Black Summer.

The documentary tells the story of the Chainsaw Project. The training has not only connected the women, but it has empowered them to upskill; learning how to properly use chainsaws and ensuring they're prepared for emergency situations.

The Chainsaw Project is more than just a practical course. It has helped women struggling through the long term bushfire recovery. It has enabled them to be connected, create new friendships, and improve their overall wellbeing. They now feel independent, empowered and confident.
