Young people lending a hand to our farmers

10 August 2021

BackTrack Youth Works is a social enterprise that offers intensive support to prepare youth for independent employment.

A $46,000 NSW Bushfire Recovery Grant is supporting BackTrack. They are providing aid to bushfire affected property owners in the mid-north coast. In turn, they're providing young people with meaningful training opportunities.

To deliver this project they have collaborated with:

  • Blaze Aid,
  • Disaster Recovery Australia,
  • Mid Coast Connect, and
  • Thungutti Land Council.

So far they have completed 1100 hours of work. This involves clearing properties and repairing and installing new fences. These fences are on boundary lines of properties that were damaged by fires and then devastated by floods.

These beautiful photos show the work being done and how these young people are making a difference in fire and flood affected areas.
