$12 million of housing support for Victorians

30 October 2020

301 Victorian households have each been granted $40,000!

An independent community service organisation, Windermere Child and Family Services has coordinated and distributed the housing assistance relief payments.

These funds have been used to alleviate the costs associated with securing accommodation and replacing household and personal items lost to the bushfires.

The Victorian Bushfire Appeal, administered by Bendigo Bank’s charitable arm Community Enterprise Foundation in partnership with the Victorian Government, has raised more than $36.8 million for fire impacted communities in Victoria.

$19.5 million has gone to a range of organisations working with local communities to aid in their recovery.

They include:

  • The Salvation Army;
  • Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund;
  • BlazeAid;
  • Windermere Child & Family Services;
  • The Man From Snowy River Festival;
  • Centre Against Violence;
  • Gateway Health;
  • Gippsland Lakes Complete Health; and
  • Albury Wodonga Foodshare.
