During the Black Summer bushfires, the entire Kangaroo Island community was impacted. These fires burnt almost half of the island. Having lost their playgrounds due to the fires, the community reached out for help.
A $50,000 grant from the South Australian Bushfire Appeal has been matched with an additional $50,000 from Variety SA. The grant will build playgrounds in the Stokes Bay Community Hall and in Parndana. Local children and visitors to KI will have new playgrounds built for accessibility and for their enjoyment.
