Bank's lights out for Earth Hour
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank will turn off its lights for an hour on 27 March 2010 for Earth Hour.
Last year, more than 4000 communities in 88 countries took part, making Earth Hour 2009 the world’s largest global climate change initiative.
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s Senior Manager of Generation Green, Trudy Ellery, said Earth Hour gave people a say on the future of the planet.
"Earth Hour brings together cities, communities, businesses and individuals with the common goal of slowing climate change and creating a more sustainable future," Ms Ellery said.
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has taken part in Earth Hour for the past two years and its offices in Bendigo, Adelaide and Docklands will turn off all non-essential lights again in 2010.
"Earth Hour emphasises what people can do when they work together," Ms Ellery said.
"We want to encourage local residents, businesses, schools and community groups to join us in supporting Earth Hour.
"Once you’ve turned off your lights, enjoy the moment and think about how you can help create a greener future," she said
