Bendigo Bank backs popular wine and food event

After a year’s hiatus, Bendigo’s Heritage Uncorked is back this October bigger and better than ever before - the event proudly sponsored by Bendigo Bank Insurance.

The two-day event, beginning on Friday 7 October, will showcase 16 wineries, more than 70 wines, nine venues and regionally inspired food.

Bendigo Bank Head of Insurance, Richard Baker, said the Bank is especially pleased to be sponsoring this year’s Heritage Uncorked.

"We wanted to show our commitment and support to the local community and the many businesses impacted by the cancellation of last year’s event," Mr Baker said.

"Heritage Uncorked is such a cornerstone of Bendigo’s event calendar, pumping thousands of dollars into the local economy.

"And, just as importantly, it creates a showcase of the best of Bendigo’s wine and food industry – everyone is proud of Heritage Uncorked, Mr Baker said.

Bendigo Winegrowers Association President, Wes Vine, said this year’s events are like nothing patrons have experienced before.

"Bendigo Heritage After Dark on Friday 7 October will be held at historic Fortuna Villa where patrons get to see inside the 146 year old building while sampling our region’s fine wines and food.

"Bendigo Heritage Uncorked on Saturday 8 October is an event with a relaxing pace so patrons can easily stroll between eight venues in central Bendigo, sample wines and enjoy inspired food tasting plates.

This year we’re thrilled that Bendigo Bank has come on board as our Principal Sponsor to support such an iconic wine and food weekend," Mr Vine said.

2016 Heritage Uncorked venues: Ulumbarra Theatre, Bendigo Art Gallery, Rocks on Rosalind, La Piazza, Bendigo Town Hall, Hotel Shamrock, Bunja Thai and The Chinese Gardens.
