Bendigo to expand banking choice in Boronia

28 November 2001 |Media centre

A new Bendigo Bank branch banking service opens in Boronia on 10 December.

The branch is modelled on a successful service at Ringwood which became one of Bendigo's top 20 branches by business volumes within two years of opening.

Ringwood manager Rob Wood said the branch would provide a full range of services, including financial planning and banking advice, face-to-face transactions, an ATM and a deposit drop-box which had proven popular with busy businesses.

"We believe the Bendigo style of banking will be enthusiastically embraced by the local community," Mr Wood said.

"The emphasis will still be very much on personal, one-on-one financial and banking advice - everything from structuring your cheque account with the lowest fees through to complex superannuation and retirement planning.

"Our staff are committed to spending time with customers to help them achieve their financial goals.

"In our view, successful customers create a successful bank - in that order. If our advice helps them to succeed, then our business will grow automatically."

Mr Wood said the full range of transactional services would ensure customers could choose their preferred method of banking.

"Customers will often choose to bank electronically, but we are quite happy for them to come in and see our staff whenever they need to - the choice is theirs."

Mr Wood said the new branch, at Shop 3 Chandler Arcade, 109 Boronia Road, Boronia, would open on Monday 10 December.

The branch opening hours will be 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday.

Mr Wood will move to Boronia to manage the Boronia branch, assisted by two senior staff in business development roles.

The business development manager for deposits and investments will be Carol Hughes who brings to the role 23 years financial experience.

Greg Hood will fill the lending role. Greg has 15 years experience in a variety of lending roles.

"We look forward to providing the Boronia community with professional, caring financial services," Mr Wood said.
