Loddon Mallee Housing receives first funding from appeal
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s philanthropic arm, Community Enterprise Foundation™ has begun distributing funds from its Victorian Flood Appeal, providing funding to emergency accommodation provider, Loddon Mallee Housing.
In the past month heavy rains have caused extensive damage across Victoria; with more than 60 communities affected by flooding.
Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s Victorian State Manager, Vicki Pearce, said the bank was committed to helping communities recover.
“Many communities have been shocked by the impact of the floods and the widespread damage that has occurred,” Mrs Pearce said.
“We know full recovery will be a slow process and that the funding announced today is just a first step.
“The will continue working with communities as rebuilding priorities are set and I’d like encourage people to continue to show their support by making a donation.”
Community Enterprise Foundation™, Chief Executive Officer, Callum Wright said, Loddon Mallee Housing was using the contribution to engage qualified electrical contractors to inspect damaged properties and assist residents to return to their own homes.
“Loddon Mallee Housing is one of the largest providers of emergency accommodation support in regional and rural Victoria,” Mr Wright said.
“Loddon Mallee Housing is currently providing assistance to nearly half of Victoria’s flood-affected communities.
“We congratulate the efforts of Loddon Mallee Housing’s dedicated staff and the efforts of all agencies and volunteers helping flood-affected communities.“
Donations to the Victorian Flood Appeal can be made at any Bendigo Bank branch or online. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
