Bendigo and Adelaide Bank’s philanthropic am, Community Enterprise Foundation™, in partnership with Pinjarra/Waroona Community Bank® Branch, has contributed more than $52,000 from the Waroona Lake Clifton Bushfire Appeal to the Salvation Army to assist with bushfire recovery projects

Pinjarra/Waroona Community Bank® Branch, Chair, Rosemarree Reynolds said the Community Bank® branch was committed to ensuring the money raised went towards regenerating the community and assisting locals into the future.

“This round of funding will target residents who lost everything in the fires and help them begin rebuilding their lives,” Ms Reynolds said.

The Salvation Army, Spokesperson, Warren Palmer, said the Salvos were proud to distribute money raised through the Waroona Lake Clifton Bushfire Appeal to the Waroona and Lake Clifton communities.

“After community consultation, we are confident distributing this round of funding to residents who lost their homes is the most appropriate course of action,” Mr Palmer said.

The grants will go towards providing following forms of assistance;

  • Essential household necessities
  • Emergency relief and ground support

“These additional funds will provide cash assistance to those who need it most, but will also support the future needs of the community,” Mr Palmer said.

“The Salvation Army and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank are committed to providing long term support to the community.”

Donations to the Waroona Bushfire Appeal can be made at any Bendigo Bank branch or online at www.bendigobank.com.au/foundation.
