Winner announced in Energy Saver Initiative
We’re excited to announce that Paynesville Men’s Shed has won $10,000 to help reduce its environmental impact, thanks to the Generation Green™ Energy Saver Initiative.
This initiative gave Victorian business owners the opportunity to win $10,000, simply by visiting the Generation Green™ website and telling us what their organisation has done or could do to save energy and reduce its environmental impact.
Paynesville Men’s Shed will use the funding to assist with purchasing solar panels, energy efficient LED lighting, and energy efficient heating systems to reduce its environmental impact at its new premises and to engage their community through the creation of an energy resource centre.
The other major prize winners included;
- Advanced Environmental Systems, Echuca, which has received Bendigo Bank Financial Planning Advice and Services valued at $5,000
- Avoca Caravan Park, Avoca, which has received a Business Energy Assessment from VECCI Sustainability Services valued at $1,000
About 4,500 entrants from across Victoria have also received a free energy saving power board valued at $49.95, saving participating businesses up to $2.5 million in unnecessary standby energy use every year.
