Bendigo Bank deepens relationship with Google Cloud

24 November 2025
Bendigo Bank has today announced a significant expansion of its relationship with Google Cloud in a multi year agreement that will ensure its people and customers benefit from the latest AI capabilities, digital skills, and cybersecurity defences.

The partnership will see the bank embed Google Cloud’s market leading AI, security and training solutions to accelerate the Bank’s 2030 strategy and continue delivering on its purpose to feed into prosperity.

With enterprise-wide access and use of AI with Gemini Enterprise, Bendigo Bank employees will be free to spend more time delivering personalised service and improving customer outcomes. Among the immediate benefits the Bank has identified are:

  • Processing customers’ lending and refinancing applications faster with automated lending, title, and document search functions;
  • Identifying, responding to and disrupting of potential instances of financial crime by using custom AI models to flag high-risk transactions; and
  • Use of generative AI to analyse and query bank data and identify product-market gaps to better address customers’ needs.

“This evolution in our relationship with Google Cloud is all about democratising AI and taking the Bank to the next level. By putting these tools in the hands of our people, we’re creating a workforce that’s well-equipped for the future,” said Bendigo Bank CEO, Richard Fennell.

“The digital ecosystem we’ve built with Google Cloud will give our people more time to focus on supporting our customers – freeing them from repetitive tasks and assisting them with complex ones – all within a world-class security and governance environment that will contribute to our people’s growth and development,” Mr Fennell said.

The expanded partnership, in line with the Bank’s Cloud-first approach, will also see Bendigo Bank:

  • Migrate its operations to Google Security Operations and Google Security Command Centre for a single, comprehensive view of the Bank’s AI and data environment, reducing the potential for security risks and improving its ability to detect, investigate and respond to threats with Google speed and scale.
  • Deploy Code Assist to help its developers build, test, and deploy robust digital solutions even faster and more consistently than before, accelerating improvements to the customer and employee experience.
  • Leverage Google Cloud's Anti Money Laundering AI (AML AI) model to better predict, identify, and mitigate illicit financial activity while reducing the risk of harm to the Bank’s customers and all Australians.

“We are deeply committed to our long-term relationship with Bendigo Bank. Its dedication to customers and people has always been evident, and the adoption of Gemini Enterprise demonstrates the innovative spirit and commitment to making its workforce resilient and confident for the future, said Paul Migliorini, Vice President, Google Cloud Australia & New Zealand.

“Through our ongoing sharing of knowledge and best practices, we’re also confident that the Bank’s employees will become AI innovators in their own right, setting new standards for customer experience and performance that may very well resonate across Australia’s entire financial services industry,” Mr Migliorini said.
