Update on network changes

2 July 2025

Bendigo Bank’s purpose is to feed into the prosperity of its customers and the community. The Bank operates Australia’s second largest regional branch network and Australia’s third largest branch network nationally.

Following a review of evolving customer preferences, a reduction in business activity and an increase in costs, Bendigo Bank has made the difficult decision to consolidate or close 10 branches from August 2025. The Bank apologises to its customers for the inconvenience.

Bendigo Bank Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Richard Fennell, said the decision to close a branch is only ever a last resort.

“Bendigo Bank has more branches per customer than any other Australian bank. We operate the second largest regional branch network and the third largest branch network nationally,” Mr Fennell said.

“We are proud of our regional heritage and in order to continue delivering for our customers and communities we must ensure our branches are adequately supported and resourced.

“To preserve what makes our Bank unique, we must balance our physical network presence with the need to continue investing in the changing preferences of our 2.7 million customers,” he said.

Bendigo Bank is working hard to support its people and customers impacted by the changes. The Bank remains committed to its branch network and the personalised interactions that occur in branches every day. The Bank is actively exploring opportunities for redeploying affected team members and is committed to supporting its people through this process.
