Corangamite Financial Services Ltd (CFS) is a locally owned public company that operates the Anglesea and Winchelsea Community Bank® branches under franchise to Bendigo Bank. The income generated from Bendigo Bank products and services held at the branches, is distributed under a profit share model between the Bendigo Bank and CFS. The profits generated by CFS are re-invested back into the community to achieve positive community outcomes and sustainability by way of our Community Investment program, in dividends to the local shareholders and back into the business for further development. It is thanks to our customers who choose to bank with us that has enabled the Anglesea & Winchelsea Community Bank® branches and the Lorne branch to return in excess of $1.7 million back into our local communities and shareholder dividends and bonus shares totaling in excess of $700k.
CFS has a local volunteer Board of Directors that are responsible for the operation of the company, however they are not involved in the banking side of the business due to customer privacy.
Due to the strong support received from the local community, Winchelsea & District Community Bank® branch was opened on 13 November 2003. With continued on-going support, this unique Community Bank® model was extended to the nearby town of Anglesea, with the Anglesea Community Bank® branch opening on 23 June 2005.
The company has continued to grow within our local region and by 22 December 2017 had achieved the required milestones to open the new branch in the seaside town of Lorne.
In addition to our three branch locations, CFS has also installed ATMs in Aireys Inlet, Birregurra, Lorne and Moriac along with 24/7 access to defibrillators in Anglesea, Winchelsea, Moriac, Deans Marsh and Lorne.
Community Groups and Associations who choose to bank with Anglesea, Winchelsea or Lorne also have access to equipment donated by CFS - Community GoPos facility, marquees, and a BBQ trailer to assist with their fundraising, subject to CFS guidelines and availability.
