Electrical safety saving lives - Norsafe

18 August 2023

Most business owners have a strong vision of what they want to achieve through their business. But for Heidi Jonsson, founder of Norsafe, her motivation was even more profound.

Losing her brother tragically at a young age was a driver for Heidi in founding and building her electrical safety testing business. “I don’t want other people’s families to go through the same hurt that we did,” she explains.

But it’s been a long road to achieving success, sometimes literally. Heidi started off on her own, driving around in a ute to remote north Queensland communities. Little by little, she chased her vision and built up her business.

When the right opportunity to expand finally arrived, Bendigo Bank’s support helped Heidi to double the size of her business overnight. “What sets Bendigo Bank apart is how they make you feel. The fact that we actually matter, and that our business is important. They can see the opportunities that we can present to the community.”

Norsafe also works to break down gender barriers. Heidi is proud that in the male-dominated electrical trade, most of her team are women.
