Sponsorships and Grants

We are committed to supporting local communities

Yes, it’s time to feel good about who you bank with.

Our Community Bank branches give up to 80% of profits back to the community. We aim to develop long-term prosperity by supporting programs that help empower local individuals and groups within the local community.

Community Investment

We support initiatives through grants, sponsorships and scholarships that help create a resilient, sustainable and thriving community.

Here's how we're making great things happen in Tugun...

Supporting youth in our community

We are committed to providing youth in our community the support they need. We do this through various projects and initiatives we have sponsored, such as mentoring programs, youth events, scholarship programs and much more.

To help us determine the needs of our youth, we held both a Community Forum and a Youth Forum. It was unanimously decided that a one stop shop service be provided to easily access information on local services, programs, activities and events for the young people of our local community.

The service will consist of a physical hub as well as a digital platform and we are grateful to Division 13 Cr. Daphne McDonald and Division 14 Cr. Gail O’Neill, who are working together with City of Gold Coast on a Community Hub to be located at Palm Beach. This Hub will also enable youth service providers to use the space to deliver their activities, programs, and information.

Whilst work continues with the development of the Community Hub, we have also been focusing on delivering a digital solution. A committee of volunteer community representatives was formed in July 2020, and in April 2021 Hubble GC was launched as a website service. This website offers a wide range of information for youth to access.

The committee continues to work hard on expanding the website services and raising Hubble GC awareness by attending local events. Both financial and in-kind support of approximately $20,000 has been provided to the project. For more information visit, www.hubblegc.com.

Supporting education

Education is one of our important assets, whether it’s through traditional schooling, TAFE, or university. Students have access to a wide variety of opportunities they can pursue, but sometimes they need a lending hand to help them get on the right path.

Cooee GC is an innovative program dedicated to helping students to become standout citizens with the help of surfing. This unique program links Elanora State High School students to employment opportunities, apprenticeships, high performance trainers and the surfing industry whilst learning real life skills and gaining experience. We are proud to support the growth of the program with funding to help youth achieve their goals.

Supporting local business

Our GC South Business Networking event and the Southern Business Women Connect luncheon allows local businesses to connect with other like-minded people.

The GC South Business Networking event is held quarterly and is co-hosted by a business or community organisation at a local venue. The informal gathering is an opportunity to meet and mingle in a relaxed atmosphere and has become increasingly popular.

The Southern Business Women Connect luncheon is held in October with the recent event attracting over 140 ladies (and some gentlemen). They were able to hear from a panel of businesswomen speak about their experiences, trials, and triumphs as a woman in business.
