More than $6.8 million invested locally
You may not think who you bank with matters. But it does. For our customers, their banking is making a real difference.
Every day our customers help change lives, and save lives, simply by banking with us. Their home loans are building skate and sports parks, hospital wings and classrooms. Personal loans, business banking and credit cards are funding ambulances, rescue boats, disabled and aged care facilities.
Each year on the Sunday after the Black Saturday anniversary (7 February) the Kinglake Cricket Club hosts the annual Black Stumps Cricket Day.
They organise this event with the neighbouring towns of Flowerdale, Strathewen and Marysville. It's a day for the cricket communities to come together, support one another, and acknowledge the anniversary of one of Australia's worst bushfire disasters. Many of the club members, their families and extended families were affected by the fires.
The event is held at the Kinglake Memorial Reserve and participants include players, families, friends and the community – which could be anywhere up to 100–200 people.
Kinglake's Bendigo Bank branch is thrilled to support this wonderful event for the local communities who were affected by the bushfires in 2009. Simply bringing people together is a big part of the healing and recovery.
