Our New South Wales Bushfire Appeal is providing the Foundation of Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) a grant totalling $600,000.
The Bushfire Community Recovery Grant will be distributing $150,000 a year over the next four years to assist FRRR to expand its Investing in Rural Community Futures (IRCF) program in the Bay and Basin area.
During June FRRR hit the road. They headed to Sanctuary Point for the Bay & Basin Community Roadmap Review in support of IRCF.
Eighteen people represented fourteen organisations at the session. They spent the day reviewing and updating the Community Roadmap and their collective goals for the future. They then collaborated to develop potential initiatives and projects to seek funding through this round of IRCF.
Attendees found the day to be a great way to meet and collaborate with others in the area saying;
“Great day. I wish orgs and people had the funds and time to get together face to face more, because that is where the real human beauty happens.”
“I’m feeling far more energised! This collaborative planning session was badly needed for our organisation.”
“When we work together and share, it’s incredible what we can achieve for our communities”.
Exciting update!
The Bay and Basin Program will benefit from additional resources for program delivery. FRRR have secured more funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Agency. This funding, from their Bushfire Recovery Fund, will aid the IRCF Program in Shoalhaven. Funds will improve their ability to deliver the program more efficiently and effectively.
