Changes to Platinum Rewards and Qantas Rewards credit cards

Starting from November 2026

In response to recent regulatory changes to card payment fees introduced by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), we’ll be updating our credit card rewards points and fees from November 2026.

We’re sharing this as an advance preview to give early visibility of what’s coming. Existing cardholders will also receive formal notification detailing these changes in advance of the change coming into effect.

What are the main changes?

Platinum Rewards Credit Cards

We’re transitioning from a single flat earn rate (currently 1.5 Bendigo Bank Rewards points per dollar ($1) spent) to introduce separate rates for domestic and international transactions:

Domestic transactions: the earn rate will be 1.0 Bendigo Bank Rewards Point for every dollar ($1) spent.
International transactions: the earn rate will be 2.0 Bendigo Bank Rewards Points for every dollar ($1) spent.

Bendigo Bank Rewards Points earned during each statement period will remain uncapped.

Qantas Platinum Rewards Credit Cards

Qantas Points earn rate

All transactions: the earn rate will decrease from 0.6 to 0.5 Qantas Points for every dollar ($1) spent on eligible purchases. Qantas Points earned will remain capped at 20,000 Qantas Points per statement period.

Annual Fee increase

The Qantas Platinum Rewards Credit Card annual fee will increase from $149 to $199.

Are other credit card features and benefits changing?

Core card features and benefits and complimentary insurances remain unchanged, including complimentary International Travel Insurance, Purchase Protection Insurance, access to Mastercard Priceless.com, Priceless Specials and Mastercard Travel Rewards.
