Not Living or Working Locally?
Did you know that you don’t have to work or live in Beaufort to bank with us? We have branches all over Australia. Banking with the Beaufort Community Bank Branch means that profit can be reinvested into the local community.
How It All Began…
On the 13th November 2000, interested community members were briefed by the Bendigo Bank about how to establish the Beaufort Community Bank® branch. A committee was formed to evaluate the proposal.
Not long after, a preliminary public meeting was held to discuss the Community Bank® concept and the steps required to establish one in Beaufort. The committee then engaged an independent consultant to conduct a feasibility study.
On the 9th May 2001, the results of the feasibility study were presented to the committee and it was overwhelmingly voted to proceed towards the establishment of Beaufort Community Bank® branch.
Many hours of dedication and hard work by community volunteers lead to the opening of the branch on 7th March 2002.
Our depositors are protected under the Australian Government’s Financial Claims Scheme (FCS) which provides protection and quick access to deposits made with a bank, building society or credit union in the unlikely event that one of these institutions fails. Find out more here.
