Raising the roof
Here at the Braidwood Community Bank® branch we are so proud of our recent announcement, that we made it 3 times!
The Braidwood Servicemens Club need major repairs to the roof of the club. When we announced the news that we would be helping with $100,000 to assist with this, emotions were running high. The total cost of the project is over $250,000.
The first announcement was at the drawing of the Shop Locally promotion. This a joint initiative we have with Queanbeyan Palerang Council. Braidwood Community Radio was there to record the drawing of the winners and our funding announcement. Our recently retired Board member, Mary Mathias, did a great job as MC and interviewing people.
The second announcement was at the completion of the Barefoot Bowls competition. This is another project sponsored by us at the Braidwood Community Bank® branch . Now into its 5th year, this competition always proves to be a fun and successful event.
The final announcement came after the clubs Friday night meat raffles. The raffles included many legs of ham, much to Piggy’s despair!
A great deal of fun was had by us and everyone who was in attendance at these announcements. There was great applause at each, along with plenty of handshakes, hugs and the odd kiss thrown in as well. These terrific events highlighted the wonderful relationship we have with the club.
Work on the new roof is due to start mid January, 2018.
