A significant amount of work and public consultation was undertaken in relation to the feasibility of establishing Mundaring Community Bank® Branch of Bendigo Bank.
In October 2000‚ two totally unrelated Mundaring Shire Residents contacted Bendigo Bank to inquire about establishing its own Community Bank® Branch. The following month a public meeting was held at which Bendigo Bank representatives briefed those assembled regarding the processes by which Mundaring Community Bank® Branch could be established. In the following weeks a committee was formed to evaluate the proposal.
During the following nine months‚ an energetic steering committee attended numerous meetings.
The results of the feasibility were presented to the committee in May 2001 and it was unanimously voted to proceed towards the establishment of Mundaring Community Bank® Branch.
The branch opened for business on 18 February 2002.
