Community Bank Pinjarra

Hi, I'm Mark Evans. I'm the Vice President for West Coast Reiners. We contribute to the community by getting people involved in club days, shows and clinics around the sport of raining. The Community Bank Pinjarra has given us a couple of grants, which has allowed us to finish building the purpose-built arena that we've now got and the next grant is going to help us build some cattle yards at the end.

So the club has grown significantly since we got our own purpose-built arena, and we're looking to grow even further behind the addition of the cattle yards so increasing the exposure. Without the Community Bank Pinjarra, we would've not been able to finish the arena that we've got currently behind us and we will not be able to expand the club and the sport.

I'm Sandra Stonehouse and I'm a wildlife carer. I'm Morris Stonehouse and I'm a wildlife carer in Yarloop. We’re a depot and rehab for wildlife so when anyone picks up any wildlife of any sort, we take it in.

Well, the Community Bank in Pinjarra helped us a lot because we were in a situation where we were starting to get in debt with our supplier. And also after the fire in 2016, we had a fair bit of damage to repair and also the covid we had more animals come in than normal, so it helped us keep our head above water.

So we're about the only wildlife carers that are registered with the department here. So the Community Bank in Pinjarra is sort of a lifeline to us.

My name's Peter Kel and I'm the community emergency service manager or officer in the Shire of Waroona. So I've been doing this for 30 years and what happens in the local brigades is they're mostly rural based brigades in this area of Waroona doing this for the last 18 months to support the bushfire brigades. We try and get out and involve ourselves with the community as much as we can. We do bushfire ready and awareness for our community so they're aware of the fire this summer.

We applied to get a grant to buy some equipment, which is required by the brigades. At this time it's been pumps and radios without the Community Bank at Pinjarra we as the brigades in the Shire of Waroona would've found it very hard to buy essential equipment that we required during the summer months to draft water to the fire units to protect our local community.

My name's Elaine Edwards and I'm the manager for Murray House Resource Centre. Murray House Resource Centre is a not-for-profit organization. Our key focus is to serve our community. We do that in a number of different ways. It can be as simple as providing a food bank box to somebody who's running short. We also provide or replicate the Community Resource Centre services to the outer localities, and we take our resources out. So that means that people who can't afford to access internet or they don't have sustainable internet or the resources that they need to make informed lifestyle choices, then we can actually help them to do that by providing that digital resource, by providing connections and referrals to allied and community health organizations that otherwise they wouldn't have access to.

Without the Community Bank in Pinjarra, we would not be able to deliver the services to the standards that we currently provide. Without the support, we would not be able to find the funding easily to replace the equipment that we've now got on site. That's made a massive difference to us and it means that instead of me putting funding to one side, I can recirculate that money back into community instead of trying to put it into resources for it.

Yeah. Hi, I'm Wayne Beardmore. I'm the project officer for Riding for the Disabled Murray Management Group in Western Australia. Our contribution to the community has been the provision of equine based therapeutic programs to special needs children and adults within the PEEL region. And we've been doing this continuously since 1978. Community Bank Pinjarra has been our bank for many years. In recent times, we had a rather disastrous state with our computers. They were eight to nine years old and started to fail, and so we had to look for funding to purchase new ones. We are self-funded, so there's no government funding behind us. So we approached Community Bank Pinjarra and they came forward and so we were able to buy two new computers and also a wonderful new printer. Without the Community Bank Pinjarra, we would probably be in dire straits because we are self-funded require contributions and support from the community. It certainly has been a boom to us to be able to continue operating in the manner that we're expected to. Without the Community Bank Pinjarra, this just wouldn't be possible.
