Chair:
Bruce Symons
Occupation:  Managing Director consulting firm
Qualifications:  B Agr.Sc (Melb) 2003, Masters (Swinburne) 2013, AICD 2013. Consulting since 2015 and previously spent five years as a CEO and prior to that performed with distinction in senior marketing and sales roles in the food industry in Australia and Asia.  Roles have varied from running a very successful Dairy Co-operative to launching a new retail product into the Japanese market to managing the turn-around of a Pacific Island subsidiary. Bruce joined the Board at the end of 2015.

Secretary:
Peter MacMillan
Occupation: Financial Accountant/Chartered Accountant
Qualifications and expertise: Peter has 40 years experience as a chartered accountant, including 25 years of running his own business. His knowledge in accounting financial records & business experience will be a great addition to the board, as well as his interest in putting back into the Barwon Heads community. Peter has been a member of the Board since 2016.

Treasurer:
David Halliday
Occupation: Semi Retired Small Business Owner.
David was previously a Chartered Accountant and partner in a Melbourne firm before moving to Echuca in 1986 to work in his own business. He semi retired and moved to Barwon Heads 7 years ago. He now runs a number of small businesses from home focusing on the administration with operational managers based in Echuca.  Until recently David was a Board Member of Echuca Community for the Aged.  David has been a member of the Board since May 2016.

Directors:
Ross Walter
Occupation: Business Consultant
Qualifications and expertise: Has held a series of positions in management and general management positions over a 20+ year career in retailing, wholesale food, liquor and logistic businesses. He has strong operational and business development knowledge base with experience in stakeholder management, team leadership and project execution. Ross is interested in being involved in many community groups including social AFL football, basketball, water polo and supporting men’s health causes and charities. Ross has been a member of the Board since 2016.

Harriet Burton
Occupation: Lawyer
Qualifications and expertise: Harriet is currently a lawyer in Coulter Roaches Corporate & Commercial Department and has had previous experience in the personal injury department, advice line injury lawyers as well as a breadth of vocational experience. Harriet brings to the board legal advice and support in conjunction with community knowledge and involvement. Her interests in Barwon Heads includes community development, social welfare, sporting clubs and associations, and environmental protection and preservation. Harriet has been a member of the Board since 2017.

Damien Shaw
Occupation: Country Manager - Transport
Qualifications and expertise: Bachelor Economics (MBA - AGSM). Damien is currently the Country Manager of Hertz Rent A Car, and prior to this he was the Australian GM for THL, a motorhome rental business. Damien has a keen interest in the Barwon Heads community and is involved in many sporting clubs with his two young children. Damien has been a member of the Board since 2017.

Damien O’Malley
Occupation: Consultant
Qualifications and expertise: Founder and Senior Consultant of strategic HR consulting business and co-founder of strategic off-sites consulting business. Clients include commercial/non-for-profit organisations in health, hospitality, infrastructure, financial services, legal services and retail. Previous experience as senior HR practitioner in leading national business in financial services, directories, gambling and entertainment, aviation and retail. Masters of Human Resources Development (UTS), Bachelor of Arts (Adelaide University), accredited as Executive Coach and number of leadership, team and cultural diagnostics.

Anita Phillips
Occupation: Dr. Deputy Director of Clinical Studies
Qualifications and expertise: General Practitioner in Drysdale, Deputy Director Clinical Studies in the School of Medicine, Deakin University, Senior lecturer and researcher in Clinical Communication. Anita brings to the board experience in leadership, in the health and tertiary education sector. Member Barwon Health End of Life Expert Advisory Committee, iValidate Research and Education Faculty. Past community projects have involved Healthy Eating Hub Days for Barwon Heads Soccer Club. Aiming to bring guidance to community grants to improve community health and wellbeing.

Jason Hutton
Occupation: Consultant
Qualifications and expertise: Jason is currently a consultant IT Technical Architect and has over 25 years in the IT industry from system support and design to management. He moved to Barwon Heads ten years ago and has since been involved with various local community groups and is currently on the Barwon Heads Tennis Club committee. Jason has been a member of the board since July 2018.
