FAQs
Get answers to your common questions about rates and fees for our credit cards.
If you have a credit card an annual fee may apply. Once you sign up to one of our credit cards, that’s when the annual fee becomes payable.
If an annual fee applies to your Bendigo Bank credit card it will usually be debited to your card account on the day before your first monthly statement is issued. From then on, it’ll be charged annually unless stated otherwise.
If you’re looking to reduce the annual fee you’re paying, and you aren’t using all the benefits of your card, it might be worth considering a Bendigo Ready Credit Card with no annual fee to save money. Compare our cards, contact your local branch, call us to find out more.
A credit card's interest is the cost linked with borrowing money from your bank. Interest rates are usually stated as an annual percentage rate. The purchase interest rate is generally advertised and applies when there is no interest free period.
A balance transfer is when you transfer all or part of your credit card balance from another bank to a Bendigo Bank credit card.
See how much you could save by transferring your existing credit card balance to a Bendigo Bank credit card by using our Balance Transfer Calculator.
When you use your Bendigo Bank credit card to withdraw cash or for transactions considered cash like, it s important to understand two different charges may apply: a cash advance fee and interest calculated at the cash advance rate.
The Cash Advance Fee is a one time charge applied for conducting the transaction. Separately, these advances are subject to interest at the Cash Advance Rate, which can be higher than the standard rate for purchases. Furthermore, cash advances do not have an interest free period, meaning interest begins to accumulate from the moment the transaction is made until the balance is paid in full.
The term cash advance extends beyond simple cash withdrawals. It includes credit obtained through Pay Anyone, Bendigo Phone Banking, or e banking transactions. Additionally, setting up a direct debit with a merchant using your BSB and account number, as well as any transactions related to gambling, lottery tickets, prepaid cards, or money transfers, are all treated as cash advances and will attract the associated fees and interest rate.
To avoid incurring cash advance fees, the most straightforward approach is to refrain from carrying out these types of transactions. For greater control, you can use the card management features available in your e banking or the Bendigo Bank app. By logging in, navigating to the Cards section, and selecting your card, you can access a list of transaction categories. From there, you have the option to switch off your ability to make cash withdrawals and other cash like transactions, such as those for gambling.
A minimum credit limit is the smallest amount of credit that can be approved for a particular credit card.

You can add an additional cardholder to your Bendigo Bank credit card at no extra cost, meaning it s $0 to add any additional cardholder. This allows them to make purchases and payments without incurring any additional fees for simply being added to the account.
